Hei Matu-Manaia Fossilized Plesiosaur Bone Pendant

Description

This Piece is carved from a shard of fossilized native Plesiosaur bone originating from the Kaikoura Coast. Because it is made from the bone of what would be considered a Taniwha it has a very special life force or Mauri imbued within it adding to this the fusing of the Manaia and Hei Matu makes for a very formidable taonga aiding in protection, guidance and spiritual communication. The wairua is also very important as it encompasses all those who will, all those who are and those that have been before. A pendant not for the faint hearted. You can see how Leon has tried to capture the age and mimicked something that one might excavate on an archaeological site this was the idea and motivation.
