Description

Nelson Inanga Jade pendant named Peihana Tuurehu – Fairy bowl. In Maori traditions Tuurehu also known as Patupaiarehe are supernatural beings who are rarely seen, fairy creatures of the deep forest and mountains, their houses built from the swirling mists. The jade is from the Aniseed Valley which was gifted from a great friend and carver who lives in the Valley a very rare find. The Inanga Nephrite Jade is pale with cromite bleeding through the jade and has a tight matrix making this piece able to be thin with

a window in the body of the peihana or bowl. This piece is tactile, smooth to the touch and weighted well making the pendant a nice wear.
